National Road No. 3 will be completed according to the plan

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdech Techo Hun Sen has said that the project to expand and upgrade the quality of National Road No. 3 from Phnom Penh to Kampot province is planned to be completed according to the plan without any interference from Covid-19 disease.

Samdech Techo wrote on the official page on July 20, 2020 that the project to expand and upgrade the quality of National Road 3 so far has achieved more than 70%, which is scheduled to be completed in In the coming 2022.

“Despite the current epidemic of Covid-19, which is affecting some of the national economy, the construction of National Road 3 continues to be completed as planned,” he said.

“National Road 3 is very important for the travel of people, tourists and the transportation of all kinds of goods from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville.”

The project to expand and improve the quality of National Road No. 3 from Phnom Penh to Kampot was opened in early May 2018 under the presidency of Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

This road has a total length of 134,826 km. It is divided into two phases. The first phase from Chom Chao (Phnom Penh) to the intersection of 69.90 km is to widen the width of the road up to 24.5 meters as a concrete road. (AC) 9 cm thick, divided into 4 lanes (2 lanes to 2 lanes).

The second phase from Bek Kous to Kampot City, 64,926 km long, 7 cm thick AC road, will be widened to 12 m wide, divided into 2 lanes.
The project is expected to cost a total of 219.911 million US dollars, a concessional financing from the People’s Republic of China with the contribution of the Cambodian government, built by China Road and Bridge Corporation, technical supervision by lead technical consultants Guangzhou Wanan Construction Supervision Co., Ltd.
