Ratanakkiri Tourism Department Director Nget Pitu recently said that the authority will transform five existing resorts and four new ones into provincial ecotourism sites after the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to RNK News, those five existing resorts are Rattanak Resort, Khmer Village Resort, Malis Kaknika Resort, Paradise Resort and Phum Yerng Resort.
Meanwhile, the four new resorts which will be created by the local authorities includes two Ochhay waterfalls and an indigenous cultural area along the Sesan River in Andoung Meas district, and Yeak Om Yeak Kara and Yeak Mai in Lumphat district.
To date, Ratanakkiri has 14 natural and cultural tourism sites, including Lake Yeak Laom, Lake Lomkot, Kachan Waterfall, Cha Ong Waterfall, Ka Tieng Waterfall and O’Sinlair Waterfall, among others.
During the five days of the substitute Khmer New Year Holiday, Ratanakkiri province received over 50,000 tourists, with the most popular places being Lake Yeak Laom, Lake Lomkot and O’Sinlair Waterfall.
